# yt-audio-cli

> A command-line tool for downloading audio from YouTube and other sites, built as a focused wrapper around yt-dlp and FFmpeg.

A command-line tool for downloading audio from YouTube and other sites. It wraps [yt-dlp](https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp) and [FFmpeg](https://ffmpeg.org/) with sensible defaults for audio-only downloads. For video downloads or advanced format control, use yt-dlp directly instead.

## Usage

```bash
pip install yt-audio-cli
yt-audio-cli https://youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID
```

## Features

- Downloads single videos, multiple videos in parallel, entire playlists, or a batch file of URLs.
- Supports MP3, AAC, Opus, and WAV output formats.
- Offers quality presets, or an exact bitrate between 32 and 320 kbps.
- Retries failed downloads, with a configurable retry count.

FFmpeg must already be installed on your system for audio conversion.
